New Years Double - 12/31/2011 and 1/1/2012

Race Results

January 1, 2011 was a great moment for running in North Texas. Allen played host to its first half marathon, one of only two in Collin County at the time, with the inaugural New Year’s Day Half Marathon. Planned and executed around the birth of the race director’s baby on December 1st, 2010, the race was announced only 4 months out with a field capped at 200. Through word of mouth only, the race sold out 45 days before the event.

For the upcoming New Year’s, we’re excited to announce a huge expansion for the event. We present the New Year’s Double – a full weekend of run events, including Allen's, and Collin County's, FIRST marathon! There's also a special perk for those who complete multiple running events over the weekend too – we know how runners love their bling!

December 31, 2011 – morning
The Inaugural New Year’s Eve Marathon, Half Marathon, Half Marathon Relay, and 5K

Join us as we celebrate the end of a wonderful year. Applaud yourself for completing the year the active way – regardless of whether it was a year where you spent the entire time making running and walking a part of your lifestyle, or you spent the last 8 weeks training for your first 5K! The point is that 2011 was still an active year!

All finishers will receive a finisher medal commemorating that day’s event.

January 1, 2012 – morning
New Year’s Day Marathon, Half Marathon, Half Marathon Relay, and 5K

Then come back the next day and celebrate starting 2012 the best way possible – the active way! Who could think of a better way to start the new year than with a thousand other runners and walkers?!?

And for locals, this still means you can enjoy ringing in the New Year at midnight. All events don’t start until 8:15 am or later, and it’s conveniently located in Allen with parking right at the start/finish line. So ring in the new year and hop into bed – many of you can still enjoy 6-7 hours of sleep!

All finishers will receive a finisher medal commemorating that day’s event.

New Years Double Challenge Plate

For those who complete events on BOTH days, both New Year’s Eve morning and New Year’s Day morning, there will be a special challenge finisher medal. The Challenge Plate will actually integrate with your two existing individual medals you received at each day’s event.

For the 2011/2012 event, we sold out 23 days before race day. Sign up on our mailing list to make sure you get first notice when we open registration in 2012 for next year!
